I used an online editor called FotoFlexer to create a more abstracted version of my original photograph. To do this, I used the 'twirl' feature to distort it and began to experiment with the size of my selection and strength of the effect. I decided that I still wanted the character in the photograph to be visible, but abstract the surroundings so that the viewer doesn't know where the character is. I really like the distortion of the image, however, next time I would create a fully abstract image so that nothing is clear to the viewer.

Polar Hill

I changed the saturation to enhance the colours of my photograph. I then used the polar coordinates filter and set it from 'polar to rect' to give it this abstract appearance which will draw in the viewer more than the original photograph I took. 

Beach Mountains

I cross processed this photograph before using the water swirl technique horizontally to make the image appear 3D and mountain-like. This greatly improves the photograph and makes it more successful.

Kaleidoscope Flower

I edited this image using an online editor called Pixlr. I used the kaleidoscope effect and changed the vertical angel of it to create the illusion of a flower or shooting star to the viewer. Although it is not completely abstracted, the photograph has become more interesting and detailed.

Abstract Ruins

This 'after' photograph is successfully abstracted because it is quite hard to work out what the original image was. I like this because it is brightly coloured and the effect used almost makes it look like a smeared canvas instead of a photograph.

Not Herself

I edited this image of Zoe using the Liquify tool on Photoshop; I also changed the hue and saturation. I think that although Zoe is still clearly visible, this is a good abstract photograph because she does not look herself.

Radical Blur

 I edited this photograph using radical blur and hue and saturation. I really like this because it creates an illusion that the image is moving and it isnt entirely obvious what the object is.
